Partners
We take pride in facilitating partnerships that make Kansas stronger.
To advance resilience, we also engage with Kansas residents in five counties: Ford, Finney, Seward, Johnson and Wyandotte (orange circles), empowering residents to contribute to research that shapes the future of their neighborhoods and cities

Community Partners
In fall 2024, the ARISE Team began partnering with two programs led by the University of Kansas Medical School called Communities Organizing to Promote Equity (COPE) and Local Health Equity Action Teams (LHEATs).
- COPE aims to advance health equity by mobilizing partners and collaborators across Kansas. This program was born from the 2020 COVID pandemic that inflamed the health disparities across many communities in Kansas.
- LHEAT members play a vital role in the ARISE project’s community-driven approach. These trusted community leaders will support engagement in the five target counties for ARISE: Ford, Finney, Johnson, Seward, and Wyandotte.
This collaborative approach serves to both identify and address critical disaster preparedness and response gaps, ultimately leading to more resilient communities in Kansas. Centering the voices of those most affected by disasters is crucial. These partnerships ensure that community members have a seat at the table in shaping the future of disaster response and recovery.
Organization Partners
Dozens of organizations partner with the data science hub initiated by the ARISE project called the Kansas Data Science Consortium. The organizations share data that can be analyzed by college students, gaining insights and economic growth advantages.
