This month we welcomed a new faculty member to the ARISE team. Elizabeth Embry is an assistant professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship academic area at the University of Kansas School of Business. She will collaborate on Theme 1 research, bringing expertise in disaster management and public health that advances research with community businesses and social science components.

Embry’s research lies at the intersection of public health, sustainability and entrepreneurship. This positions her to examine ways to strengthen community resilience through entrepreneurship and innovations in the built environment.

Embry earned her doctoral degree in entrepreneurship and strategy from the University of Colorado Boulder. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Boston University and Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University. Before starting her doctoral program, Embry was the director of global health at Saint Louis University’s College for Public Health and Social Justice.
