This week we celebrate and say goodbye to our business manager, Candi Wilbur, who retired on September 5, 2023.
Candi has worked at the University of Kansas in various roles since 2001. Starting in the spring of 2012, she began her stint with Kansas NSF EPSCoR, ultimately managing the multi-million-dollar budgets for three awards from the National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research. From climate change and energy to nanostructures and microbiomes, these projects expanded research capacity statewide and enhanced workforce development in Kansas. In her role, Candi assisted many dozens of investigators, educators, students, and staff across the state — always with a friendly personality and helpful nature.
