Long-time leader of Kansas NSF EPSCoR outreach Teresa MacDonald is this month’s unsung hero at the University of Kansas Office of Research.
As the associate director of informal science education at the KU Biodiversity Institute & Natural History Museum, Dr. MacDonald works with scientists and engineers across campus to turn their research into experiential learning.
Dr. MacDonald leads several EPSCoR projects, including “Microbes on the Move,” a traveling program that has trekked hundreds of miles across the state. This year she launched a new project with the ARISE grant to develop activities about the science of resilience for low-income families in Kansas City, Kansas, as well as TRIO’s low-income and first-generation college students.
Congratulations, Dr. MacDonald, for this well-deserved recognition!
