Financing Resilience and Adaptation

April 16, 9 – 10am
Free training

Come learn strategies for resilient financing. Attendees will learn to develop and maintain financial capacity within your organization. You will also learn to utilize concepts from asset management – an approach to documenting the condition of your physical assets so you can better forecast the impact of threats posed by natural and manmade disasters. Funding opportunities to support resiliency initiatives will be shared, along with technical assistance and other services that are available through the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at Wichita State University and its Heartland Environmental Justice Center.

The EFC is leading this session. As a key partner of ARISE, the EFC helps communities build capacity to address environmental challenges.

Roundtable for Community Engaged Research

February 29, 2024 | 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Register for zoom link

Come learn about how folks at the KU Medical Center are promoting social equity in Kansas with the COPE project, which stands for ‘Communities Organizing to Promote Equity.’ COPE employs teams of residents from 22 counties in Kansas to help remove obstacles that limit health and well-being in their county. Each ‘Local Health Equity Team’ (LHEAT) includes healthcare workers, organizational leaders, and other community members. Our hope is that this session will spur the sharing of ideas for community engaged research and help align efforts across both ARISE and COPE.

Anyone involved in the ARISE project is encouraged to attend.
