Kansas NSF EPSCoR is currently seeking proposals for Research, Education, and Innovation (REI) Awards in resiliency.
REI Awards are for any faculty member at designated universities in Kansas to kickstart projects in resiliency. Special consideration will be given to proposals in these key areas: bias in machine learning and/or data science; resiliency planning and risk mitigation within indigenous communities; emergency management; disaster and resilience planning.
The best proposals will each receive awards up to $50,000, enabling faculty across the state to purchase research equipment, support students, and more.
Proposals must align with the current ARISE project, which seeks to develop “Adaptive and Resilient Infrastructures driven by Social Equity” (ARISE).
See current solicitation for eligibility criteria and submission requirements. Proposals are due January 10, 2023.
What is Kansas NSF EPSCoR?
The National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) ensures every citizen has access to STEM experiences by increasing research capacity in traditionally underfunded regions of the country—like Kansas. For every dollar it invests in Kansas, the state gets back twice that in non-EPSCoR funding.
